West Virginia is finally starting to fill out their roster after receiving two commitments in the past two days.
After Quinn Slazinski transferred in from St. Johns, Jose Perez joined Slazinski late Friday night as he announced he is exiting the portal and coming back to West Virginia for the 2023-2024 season.
Rostered
Adding Perez adds a level of clarity on what the needs are for the final two roster spots. WVU is up to 11 players, and now needs serious help in their frontcourt or in adding another big as Edwards is the only true center. Suemnick and Slazinski can occupy the four, while Harris will most likely be utilized as a three or four, depending on the guard combinations on the floor.

Just looking at the numbers, there are a lot of guards on this team — and a lot of good guards. Kriisa, Perez, Battle, all can score the ball and have major college basketball experience. Wilson is in year three along with Johnson, and Silverio is a veteran of college hoops as well.

The first time since Bob Huggins’ resignation that interim head coach Josh Eilert is not having to re-recruit anyone. There is no one in the portal, however, as always, graduate transfers can enter at any time.
