WVU Football continues to be hard at work building the 2027 recruiting class. The Mountaineers have had multiple recruits in on visits throughout spring practice sessions and a couple of those visitors decided to commit to West Virginia during this past week.
Of the two verbal commitments WVU was able to earn from two different 2027 recruits, one came on the defensive side and one came on the offensive side, with the offensive addition coming at one of the skill positions.
That skill position addition comes in the form of a running back out of Florida in Lee Prince Jr. Prince’s commitment should certainly excite Mountaineer fans due to the potential game-breaking speed that he brings to the table. Hailing from Carol City High School, the new commit is not only a star on the football field but is also a state champion in track & field. Having won the 4A 100m state title back in 2024. Prince’s measurables come in at 5’10 and 175lbs and he verbally committed to the Mountaineers on April 3rd.
The second of the two recent commitments for WVU comes on the defensive side as West Virginia secured their first commitment from a Linebacker in the 2027 class. That Linebacker is Mason Cerovac out of Olmstead Falls High School in Ohio. While his offer list may not currently be quite as impressive as the aforementioned Lee Prince Jr., Cerovac possesses impressive size for a young recruit at the position as he stands at over 6’2 and weighs in at 230 pounds. Cerovac feels like a recruit that the Mountaineers are ahead of the curve on, and also seems like a great scheme fit for a Zac Alley defense. He announced his commitment to WVU on April 2nd.
These two commitments become the 3rd and 4th verbals for the WVU football recruiting class as the Mountaineer coaching staff looks to put together another impressive group of recruits.
