We are halfway through February and the Big 12 continues to make its case as the best conference in college basketball.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 has six teams represented in it: Houston at third, Kansas at sixth, Iowa State at 10th, Baylor at 12th, BYU at 19th and Oklahoma at 25th. The Big 12 also has Texas Tech, TCU and Texas receiving votes.
As of games through Feb. 14, 8 of the 14 teams have seven or fewer losses with every team having played at least 23 games. Oklahoma State and West Virginia are the only teams in the conference that do not currently have a winning record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 12 Baylor (18-6, 7-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor lost a top-15 showdown on the road against No. 4 Kansas 64-61. Baylor only led to start the game and had a chance to tie it at the end of regulation but missed two 3-pointers.
This past Tuesday, Baylor won a top-25 showdown at home against No. 25 Oklahoma 79-62. Baylor only trailed in the first half as they ran away with it in the second half.
Up next for Baylor is a road game against West Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a road game against BYU on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
No. 19 BYU (18-6, 6-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU won a home game against Kansas State 72-66. BYU led for much of the game and had to hold off a Kansas State rally to win it.
This past Tuesday, BYU won a home game against UCF 90-88. BYU never trailed in this one though they did need to hold off a UCF rally for the win.
Up next for BYU is a road game against Oklahoma State on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a home game against Baylor on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
Cincinnati (15-9, 4-7 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati lost a home game against No. 5 Houston 67-62. Cincinnati led by as many as seven points in the second half, but it was all Houston from there.
This past Tuesday, Cincinnati lost a home game against No. 10 Iowa State 68-59. Cincinnati only led in the first half as it was all Iowa State in the second half.
Up next for Cincinnati is a road game against UCF on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a home game against Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
No. 3 Houston (21-3, 8-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston won a road game against Cincinnati 67-62. Houston trailed by as many as seven points in the second half, but they put away Cincinnati from there.
Houston was off during the weekdays this week and up next is a home game against Texas on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a home game against Iowa State on Monday, Feb. 19.
No. 10 Iowa State (19-5, 8-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Iowa State won a home game against TCU 71-59. Iowa State only trailed early in the first half as they took care of business on their home court.
This past Tuesday, Iowa State won a road game against Cincinnati 68-59. Iowa State only trailed in the first half as they took over in the second half for the win.
Up next for Iowa State is a home game against Texas Tech on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a road game against Houston on Monday, Feb. 19.
No. 6 Kansas (19-6, 7-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas won a top 15 showdown at home against No. 13 Baylor 64-61. Kansas only trailed to start the game and Baylor had a chance to tie it at the end of regulation but missed two three-pointers.
This past Monday, Kansas lost a road game against Texas Tech 79-50. Kansas never led in this one as Texas Tech took care of business on their home court.

Kansas State (15-9, 5-6 Big 12)

No. 25 Oklahoma (18-7, 6-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma won a Bedlam Series at home against Oklahoma State 66-62. The game was tightly contested throughout and Oklahoma managed to squeak out the win.
This past Tuesday, Oklahoma lost a top-25 showdown on the road against No. 12 Baylor 79-62. Oklahoma only led in the first half as Baylor ran away with it in the second half.
Up next for Oklahoma is a top 25 showdown at home against No. 6 Kansas on Saturday, Feb. 17. After that is a Bedlam Series on the road against Oklahoma State on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Oklahoma State (10-14, 2-9)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma State lost a Bedlam Series at home against Oklahoma 66-62. The game was tightly contested throughout and Oklahoma managed to squeak out the win.

TCU (17-7, 6-5 Big 12)

This past Monday, TCU won a home game against West Virginia 81-65. West Virginia kept it close in the first half, then TCU ran away with it in the second half.

Texas (16-8, 5-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Texas won a home game against West Virginia 94-58. Texas only trailed to start as they blew out West Virginia from there.

Texas Tech (18-6, 7-4 Big 12)

West Virginia (8-16, 3-8 Big 12)
Last Saturday, West Virginia lost a road game against Texas 94-58. West Virginia only led to start the game as Texas blew them out from there.
This past Monday, West Virginia lost a road game against TCU 81-65. West Virginia kept it close in the first half, then TCU ran away with it in the second half.
