In a lopsided 122-84 victory over the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets, former West Virginia and current New York Knicks point guard Miles ‘Deuce’ McBride played well in 21 minutes at home.
McBride scored 13 points, shooting 4-5 from three and 1-2 from the free throw line.
Deuce also had two steals, an assist and a rebound in the contest.
This season, McBride is now averaging just under one assist and 4.7 points a game, shooting 45.4% from the field in an average of 9.8 minutes.
With Knicks star Jalen Brunson being out in back-to-back games against the Grizzlies on Jan. 13 and the Magic on Jan. 15, Deuce got the starting nod at guard and took full advantage.
In a win over Memphis, McBride scored 19 points shooting 70% from the field (7-10) with six rebounds, five assists a block and a steal in 38 minutes.
In a narrow loss vs Orlando, Deuce scored a career-high 20 points, shooting 8-17 from the field (47.1%), 4-10 from three, with two rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block in 36 minutes.
McBride and the Knicks will take on their rival Miami Heat on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. EST with the game being televised on ABC.
