WVU Sports News Round-Up for 6/8/26: Baseball Earns First CWS Trip, Pat White Honored

WVU News Daily is a new Monday through Friday video series attempting to shed a light on all of the happenings within the WVU sports world, spanning across all WVU athletics programs.

On the June 8th edition, we discuss what turned out to be a historical weekend for West Virginia in more ways than one. WVU Baseball, of course, made history by dominating Cal Poly in their two Super Regional Matchups to punch their ticker to the College World Series for the first time ever. Additionally, WVU Football made a historic move as well as they decided unanimously to adjust the criteria for jersey number retirement so that Pat White can now finally be awarded this honor by the University.
