With less than a month remaining until National Signing Day, WVU Football continues to add commitments to what is already an impressive 2026 recruiting class. The most recent addition comes from the junior college ranks, but will provide the Mountaineers with some more of the speed that they covet at the skill positions in Rich Rodriguez’s offense.

Keon Hutchins, a wide receiver out of well-known Northwest Mississippi Community College, announced his commitment to WVU earlier this week. Hutchins is rated as one of the top JUCO wide receivers nationally in the 2026 class, and his speed is a big reason why.

His 40-yard dash time has been clocked at the sub 4.3 range, and he has also shown an ability to run nearly 24 MPH during his time in Junior College. In addition to those numbers, his statistics also showcase his ability to be a deep threat because of his quickness as he has managed to gain 569 receiving yards and six touchdowns despite only having 25 receptions on the season.

The speed may be the main selling point, but standing at 6-foot-2, Hutchins also has the length to develop into more than just a deep threat. Especially when you consider he will be coming to WVU with multiple years of eligibility remaining as well.

Following the commitment of Hutchins, West Virginia now has 27 recruits that have verbally committed to the Mountaineers in the 2026 recruiting class.
