Wyatt Milum was the first and only Mountaineer to be taken so far in the 2025 NFL Draft and will now take his talents to Jacksonville, Florida as the Jaguars look to make the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
The Jaguars selected the West Virginia guard with the 89th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in Friday’s third round. Milum joins No. 2 overall pick and fellow All-Big 12 First Team selection Travis Hunter as well as Tulane cornerback Caleb Ransaw in Jacksonville’s rookie class.
Milum shined at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting a production score of 81 for second best among guards. Milum also put up impressive numbers in the main events, recording a 40-yard dash time of 5.27 seconds, a 30-inch vertical, and a 9-foot broad jump.
Milum started garnering interest from NFL scouts after his junior season. In 2023, Milum started every game for WVU and played 753 offensive snaps. In that time, he did not allow a sack or quarterback hit and surrendered only eight pressures that season. Milum earned second-team All-Big 12 honors from both the coaches and Phil Steele and was a Phil Steele All-American honorable mention.
Milum was graded at 92 percent or higher in 11 of his 12 games as a part of a dominant offensive line that led the Power Five in rushing yards per game and was ranked third nationally in fewest sacks allowed. Milum led the team in great blocks (75) and was second in knockdowns (49) and earned WVU Offensive Lineman of the Game honors in three different matchups.
Now, the Kenova, West Virginia native will look to build a similarly dominant line in the Sunshine State to help Jacksonville make a deep run in the playoffs. With franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence finally receiving the protection he needs and a generational talent to throw to in Travis Hunter, the Jaguars look to be a competitive team in the NFL this upcoming season.
Milum will watch six more rookies to join him in Jacksonville on Saturday and if any of his fellow Mountaineers will begin their NFL journey as the NFL Draft’s final day begins at noon.
