Mountaineers land Treysen Eaglestaff

The Summit League’s hottest emerging star is off to the Big 12.

On3’s Joe Tipton announced Sunday that North Dakota guard Treysen Eaglestaff will join Ross Hodge’s new-look West Virginia Mountaineers next season. Eaglestaff is now the seventh commit of Hodge’s transfer class.

Eaglestaff turned heads nationally this season, scoring 40 points in a loss to No. 6 Alabama in December. In his final win with North Dakota, in the Summit League Championship quarterfinals, Eaglestaff scored a Summit League record 51 points.

With three seasons under his belt at North Dakota, Eaglestaff joins the Mountaineers as a senior. He averaged 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals on 31.8 minutes per game last season.
