WVU football announced new field design for 2025-2026 season

As we get closer and closer to the start of the football season, West Virginia is preparing for another great year at Milan Puskar Stadium.

With this preparation have come some key changes in the field. Wren Baker has talked since he came to WVU about renovations to the stadium, and the first change is the field itself, according to @WVUfootball on X.

Although at first glance the field design looks the same, West Virginia has simplified the center-field logo and end zones. They removed the black outlines in both and changed the font in the end zone from black to yellow.

This change has caused mixed emotions on X with the entire WVU fanbase, with many believing it is too “simple.” The new design has simply taken away all of the outline and style of the field, making it very similar to the West Virginia field design last time Rich Rodriguez was here.

Although this change does not affect the team or environment in Milan Puskar Stadium, it is something every WVU fan will notice as they enter the field next season in the Mountaineer’s first game against Robert Morris on Aug. 30. Time will only tell if the West Virginia fans will appreciate the new field next season.
