Sauve Named Big 12 Player of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 14, 2025) – West Virginia University junior catcher Logan Sauve has been named the Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week.

Despite playing just two games, Sauve made an impact as he hit .556 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored. With two walks to his ledger as well, he put up a 1.858 OPS in the two games he played against Houston, leading WVU to a weekend sweep.

On Friday against the Cougars, Sauve went 3-for-4 with a run scored. He followed that up with a two-home run performance on Sunday while driving in four runs.

It is the first time in his career that the Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania native has taken home the Big 12 honor. Overall, it is the 18th time that a Mountaineer has collected the award and first since JJ Wetherholt on May 15, 2023.

Sauve and the Mountaineers will be back in action on Tuesday at Marshall with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
