2026 three-star defensive back Taj Powell announced his commitment to West Virginia on X Thursday night.
Powell, who is the brother of former Mountaineer basketball player Jonathan Powell is from Springfield, Ohio and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds.
The defensive back chose West Virginia over schools like Kentucky, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Ohio, Temple and Toledo.
Powell is the second defensive back in the 2026 class to commit to West Virginia, joining Emory Snyder from Oklahoma.
