West Virginia secures first transfer commit

All of WVU’s outgoing transfers have officially relocated, and its first newcomer is on his way.

UNC Wilmington junior Harlan Obioha is the first transfer to call Morgantown home, Pete Thamel announced on Sunday. Obioha fills WVU’s need for a big man, measuring at seven feet tall and 280 pounds.

Obioha averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and 0.9 assists in 20 minutes per game last season for UNC Wilmington. Obioha played three years at Niagara before joining the Seahawks this past year.

In his final game with UNC Wilmington, Obioha scored seven points to go with nine rebounds, an assist, and a block in the NCAA Tournament against Texas Tech.
