Sencire Harris transfers to rival program

The Big 12 is keeping its All-Defensive Team guard, even though West Virginia is not.

Rising junior Sencire Harris will play for the Cincinnati Bearcats next season, he announced on Instagram on Sunday. Harris played one season at WVU under Darian DeVries, who also departed Morgantown after just one year.

Harris started in all 32 of WVU’s games this season, contributing significantly on the defensive side of the ball, averaging 1.7 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. Offensively, Harris marked 5.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per contest.

Cincinnati has a storied rivalry with the Mountaineers, having shared time in the Big East Conference from 2005-2012 before reuniting in the Big 12. WVU and Cincinnati have matched up 25 times since 1941.

No players remain in the transfer portal coming out of West Virginia.
