Mark Kellogg signs extension to stay in Morgantown

Announced this afternoon, women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg has signed an extension to stay with the Mountaineers through 2030.

Kellogg agreed to the extension last July and kept it unannounced.

In the agreement was a one-time automatic extensions clause if the Mountaineers finished in the top six of Big 12 standings in either the 2024-25 or the 2025-26 season. West Virginia finished tied for fourth place this season and activated the extension to secure Kellogg for the 2029-30 season.

By 2030 Kellogg’s base salary will reach $700,000. He will receive supplemental compensation on top of this which increases by $25,000 each year of his contract, bringing his total salary to $900,000 in 2030.

The new deal included an automatic extension clause that triggered this year and locks Kellogg up through 2030.

Kellogg’s buyout is currently $1.35 million.
