Former Mountaineer forward Jonathan Powell has committed to UNC after spending just one season in Morgantown this past year.
Powell averaged 8.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game last year while shooting 35.2% from three-point range, and his 64 made threes led all freshmen the Big 12 in his lone season with the Mountaineers. He announced that he would enter his name into the transfer after the season ended a few weeks ago.
Powell was reported to have visits lined up with North Carolina, Ole Miss, and Ohio State before ultimately choosing the Tar Heels.
