Rothstein: WVU closing in on head coach target

It’s been just over a week since Darian DeVries left West Virginia after one year for Indiana University, and the coaching search has continued on.

Wednesday morning on Twitter/X, CBS Sports basketball guru Jon Rothstein reported that a major contender for the head coaching role had emerged.

Sources: North Texas' Ross Hodge is a serious candidate for the HC vacancy at West Virginia.

The Mean Green are in the Final 4 of the Postseason NIT.

Nothing is final, but Hodge – who worked w/ WVU AD Wren Baker at UNT – is under strong consideration to replace Darian DeVries.

Hodge and AD Wren Baker have a history with one another at North Texas. Hodge’s team is still playing in the NIT Tournament.
