WVU specialists take on Big 12 pro day

West Virginia has 17 players showing off their skills at Big 12 Pro Day. Without their own pro day this year, the Mountaineers only have one chance to showcase their skills.

Placekicker Micheal Hayes is one of those seventeen players. He is a redshirt senior from Florence, South Carolina, who transferred to West Virginia after four years at Georgia State.

In his redshirt junior season with the Mountaineers, Hayes finished the year ranked No. 34 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 12 in field-goal percentage and was selected to the All-Big 12 fourth team. This past season Hayes completed 13 of 14 field goals with a long of 52.

Long snapper Austin Brinkman is another specialist at the Big 12 pro day for the Mountaineers. He has played for the Mountaineers the past four seasons after redshirting his freshman year. He played in every game for WVU and was selected into the Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team in 2023.

The NFL draft will take place from Thursday, April 21 to Saturday, April 26.
