WVU linemen finish up day one of Big 12 Pro Day

As day one of the Big 12 Pro Day concluded, West Virginia had four offensive linemen represent the Mountaineers in Frisco. There were 32 offensive linemen in Frisco, representing their Big 12 school.

Wyatt Milum, Nick Malone, Brandon Yates and Jaquay Hubbard all performed drills this morning in front of over 300 NFL scouts.

Nick Malone

Malone had an impressive day in front of the scouts, ranking top 10 in multiple categories. He ranked fourth amongst all linemen in the 40 yard dash with a time of 5.06 seconds, 10th in the broad jump, jumping 8’9”, ninth in bench press with 26 reps, and 10th in the 3 cone drill at 7.66 seconds. Malone’s performance should stand out to NFL scouts after not getting an invite to the NFL Combine.

Brandon Yates

Yates put up a strong 25 reps on bench press and ran a 5.27 second 40 yard dash, ranking 11th in the field for both categories. His 27 inch vertical jump ranked him 15th amongst the offensive linemen. Yates did not participate in the 3 cone drill or the shuttle drill.

Jaquay Hubbard

Hubbard’s best drill of the day was the bench press, as he put up 16 reps. He ranked lower in other drills such as the 40 yard dash, with a time of 6.02 seconds and vertical jump, jumping only 26.5 inches.

Wyatt Milum

After competing in the NFL Combine earlier this month, Milum doesn’t have much more to prove. Because of this, Milum only participated in the 3 cone drill and the shuttle drill. Milum’s 3 cone time was 7.59 seconds, which was the eighth best. Milum also ranked eighth with a shuttle time of 4.84 seconds.

All skill positions are set to work out tomorrow, starting with running backs and tight ends at 9:15 am. The NFL Network will be broadcasting the pro day from 1:00-4:00 pm Thursday afternoon.
