West Virginia basketball took their first major roster loss with Kelvin Odih re-opening his recruitment following the news that Darian DeVries would be taking the Indiana job.
Kelvin Odih is a 6-foot-5 forward prospect from SoCal Academy in California. Odih committed to WVU in October of 2024 and was ranked as the No. 75 player in the nation, No. 18 at the forward position, and No. 9 in California according to 24/7 Sports.
This news comes just hours after it was announced that head coach Darian DeVries would leave West Virginia and take the head coach opening at Indiana. Odih becomes the first major domino to fall following that news and most likely won’t be the last. Before committing to WVU, Odih had held offers from Rutgers, Creighton, Marquette, Colorado and others before ultimately deciding that he would commit to WVU.
This is a situation to watch as one of the top 2025 prospects has decided that he will play elsewhere.
