West Virginia snubbed from NCAA Tournament

With the NCAA Tournament bracket now finalized, West Virginia did not make the cut.

According to the Bracket Matrix, West Virginia is the first team to miss the tournament after being a unanimous selection amongst 111 bracketology experts.

West Virginia finished the season with 19 wins including six Quad-1 wins, three of those being against top 10 opponents.

The Mountaineers did not get a spot over North Carolina, Xavier, Texas or San Diego State. North Carolina and Xavier finished the season each with one Quad 1 win and San Diego State finished with three.

The Mountaineers most recent loss to 14-20 Colorado in the Big 12 tournament may have been what knocked them out. West Virginia was put back on the bubble after this game.

This is the second season in a row that the Mountaineers have missed the NCAA Tournament.

For Darian DeVries, this is the first time since 2022 that he did not make the tournament. DeVries took Drake to the tournament in 2023 and 2024.
