WVU falls to last four byes in latest bracketology

After West Virginia men’s basketball’s loss to the worst ranked team in the conference Colorado yesterday, West Virginia has dropped to the last four byes in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology.

After being on this list earlier in the season, key victories over Utah and UCF pushed the Mountaineers up to a projected 9-seed just last week. This loss against a Colorado team that has struggled the entire season will go down as the worst loss of the season for the Mountaineers.

Although WVU is safely in the tournament, this loss not only means they will now play a seventh seed in the first round of the NCAA tournament but is also raising a lot of questions as to what this team is capable of.

The offense looked unorganized and sluggish in the second half, and the defense could not get key stops at the end of the game against a low-scoring offense in Colorado.

The Mountaineers will wait and see whether or not Lunardi’s predictions are accurate. The men’s bracket will be released on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET.
