West Virginia football introduced a new uniform this past season in their matchup against Iowa State, and it was a huge hit. The Coal Rush uniforms were loved by the fans and have been nominated for the UNISWAG uniform of the year.
West Virginia will compete against 20 other schools and uniforms that stood out throughout the season.
The Coal Rush theme honored West Virginia’s long history of coal miners. Without coal, the state would not be where it is today.
The uniforms were so successful that other teams including both the men’s and women’s basketball teams also had a Coal Rush game this season. The fans are hoping West Virginia will bring back the uniforms again next year.
