Current Utah men’s basketball interim head coach Josh Eilert praised Javon Small for his stellar performance this season. Eilert served as the interim head coach for WVU during the 2023-2024 season.
“He’s got my vote (for Big 12 Player of the Year). He is an ultimate winner. He plays the game the right way, and he doesn’t force things when he doesn’t have to. A lot of people are throwing a lot of different guys at him and being really physical with him but he keeps on producing,” Eilert said of the senior guard.
Small put up 18 points shooting 50% from the field and 100% from the free-throw line against the Utes in Tuesday’s matchup.
