WVU Baseball Announces Starting Pitchers for Weekend Series at Lipscomb

WVU has announced their three starters for the weekend series against Lipscomb which will be WVU’s second series of the 2025 season.

The Mountaineers will use the same three-pitcher rotation for this weekend’s series against Lipscomb that they used last weekend at Jacksonville.

Griffin Kirn will get the ball on Saturday at 2:00 pm EST in the first game of the series, in his last outing, Kirn posted 5.2 innings while giving up one hit and one run while punching out five Jacksonville hitters.

Robby Porco will get the ball in the first game of the doubleheader on Sunday at 1:00 pm EST. Porco had a solid outing in his last time out, giving the Mountaineers 3.2 innings, giving up two earned runs, and striking out four.

In the final game of the series, Gavin Van Kempen will take the ball in the second game of the doubleheader at 4:30 PM EST. Van Kempen was able to produce four innings of one-run ball while punching out six hitters.

The Mountaineers will look to build off their strong start to the season that began with a three-game sweep of Jacksonville just a week ago.
