Fran Fraschilla shares excitement for former Mountaineer and plans to visit Morgantown

WVU is making noise across the basketball world this week.

In conjunction with WVU Women’s Basketball’s upset of No. 12 Kansas State on Monday, former men’s team star earned a 10-day contract in the NBA. One of college hoops’ biggest names, ESPN and Big 12 analyst Fran Fraschilla, took note.

“How about this news,” Fraschilla posted Monday night on X in response to Stevenson’s NBA opportunity. Stevenson will join the Washington Wizards’ NBA roster for its Friday home game against Milwaukee. He represented Washington’s G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, in Sunday’s G League Up Next Game.

As for the current Mountaineer squad, WVU is fighting to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament, currently at a 15-10 record with five Quadrant 1 victories. As Cincinnati visits Morgantown on Wednesday for the next step on that journey, Fraschilla announced he will be too.

“See everybody Wednesday night at the Coliseum,” Fraschilla said.

Wednesday’s game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
