Jahiem White ranks among top returning collegiate running backs

PFF College took note of one of WVU’s most significant returners this week.

In its list of top 10 returning running backs for the 2025 football season, rising junior Jahiem White just made the cut. White ranked 10th on the list alongside top returner Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame, Penn State’s Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen, and Pittsburgh’s Desmond Reid.

White joined the Mountaineers as a freshman in 2023. Since, he has helped shape WVU’s reputation as having a powerful backfield.

White finished with 842 rushing yards, 125 receiving yards, and 119 yards in kick return as a freshman with four touchdowns rushing and two receiving. Last season, White tallied 845 rushing yards, 122 receiving yards, seven rushing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

Under new head coach Rich Rodriguez, White will begin spring practices with the team on Feb. 25 ahead of the annual Gold-Blue Spring Showcase on April 5.
