West Virginia women’s basketball rose three spots in the AP Poll announced earlier today. This comes after their big win against No. 24 Oklahoma State this past Saturday.
JJ Quinerly continues to make a case for All Big-12, scoring 19.1 points per game this season. The biggest story recently for the Mountaineers has been the rest of the team. Sydney Shaw had a huge game against Oklahoma State scoring 18 points, but the team has gotten great contributions from Jordan Harrison and Kylee Blacksten as well.
As the back end of conference play approaches, WVU is looking to secure a higher seed in the NCAA tournament to ensure easier first and second rounds.
The Mountaineers are looking to tie together a winning streak moving forward as they face Kansas on Feb. 5 at the Coliseum. The team will then hit the road to play Houston on Feb. 8.
