The 2024-2025 NBA season is already past the halfway point, and a pair of former Mountaineers are playing pretty big roles for their teams.
Miles McBride
New York Knicks backup guard Miles (Deuce) McBride is having the best season of his so far, seeing career highs in minutes played, points, rebounds, and assists per game. In 23 minutes of a game, Deuce is averaging 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. McBride is one of the first guys off the bench for the Knicks and has shown flashes of becoming a great role player in the league.
Jevon Carter
The Chicago Bulls’ backup guard, Jevon Carter, has seen career lows across the board this year. Carter, who is a backup to Coby White, has managed to average 3.5 points per game while shooting 43.6% from the field in only 6 minutes a game. On Dec. 26th Carter played 36 minutes against the Atlanta Hawks dropping a season-high 26 points shooting 9/15 from the field and 7/11 from the three-point line.
