West Virginia has officially lost the luxury of riding the high from its upset of No. 2 Iowa State.
After turning heads with its fourth victory over a ranked team this season, WVU made its way back into the AP top 25 last week. This week, the Mountaineers are back on the outside looking in.
West Virginia received just three votes in the AP poll this week, thanks to suffering two losses to Arizona State and Kansas State respectively. WVU fell to 4-4 in Big 12 play and 13-6 overall.
Despite the losses, West Virginia still ranks 21st nationally in points allowed and is 9-2 in home games. With that advantage, WVU will welcome No. 6 Houston on Wednesday as it seeks to get revenge from its only ranked loss.
