West Virginia all-state quarterback commits to WVU

The Mountaineers secured another in-state star from the class of 2025 on Sunday.

Max Anderson, a senior quarterback and linebacker for 13-2 Spring Mills High School, announced on X that he will be staying in West Virginia for college.

At 6-foot-1, 208 pounds, Anderson stands out as one of the most successful athletes in the state, playing both football and basketball at the varsity level. As a quarterback, Anderson threw for 1,464 yards, 19 touchdowns, and six interceptions and ran for 1,078 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground.

In 2024, Anderson was named to West Virginia’s Class AAAA all-state football team for his two-way efforts. On Jan. 7, the Mountaineers took notice, sending him his first FBS offer.

Anderson is the third commitment in the class of 2025 who played high school football in West Virginia.
