Mark Kellogg and Kylee Blacksten Talk About Blowout Win at Arizona State

WVU women’s basketball picked up a massive 30-point win on the road over Arizona State on Wednesday.

West Virginia women’s basketball improved their record on the season to 16-3 with an 89-59 win on the road at Arizona State, that win was the 900th in the programs history.

“Happy for the group, that was our 900th win in our program, that a lot of wins in our school’s history,” Mark Kellog said.

The WVU women’s team has been dominant at home this season with an 11-0 record but is currently sitting at 3-2 in the team’s road games.

“Proud of the group, we needed this one, we needed to come on the road and find a little of our road identity,” Kellog said postgame.

WVU’s offense was powered by JJ Quinerly, who dropped 29 points in the win over Arizona State, and Kylee Blacksten who dropped 24, a career-high while making three of five three-point attempts.

“That’s something that you always try to grow, whether it’s on the defensive end or the offensive end it’s just always wanting to continue to get better,” Kylee Blacksten said about her shooting range improving in her two seasons at WVU.

West Virginia will stay in Arizona to take on the Wildcats on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8:30 pm EST. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
