West Virginia’s Javon Small was named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for the second time. The U.S. Basketball Writers Association picks five standouts from the 31 Division I conference players of the week to recognize. Small was joined by Tyeree Bryan (Santa Clara), Rahsool Diggins (Massachusetts), Hunter Sallis (Wake Forest), and Earl Timberlake (Bryant).
Small put up an impressive 27 points against Iowa State with 12 of them being in the final two minutes. The senior guard added seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. This matchup marked the Mountaineers’ fourth win against a ranked team and third win against a top ten team this season.
Small also was named the Big12 Player of the Week.
