Former Akron cornerback Devonte Golden-Nelson commits to West Virginia

Former Akron cornerback Devonte Golden-Nelson committed to play football for the Mountaineers Thursday afternoon. The 5-foot-10 180 pound redshirt junior entered the transfer portal on Dec. 15 and visited Morgantown on Jan. 7.

This past season, Golden-Nelson played in 11 games and recorded 22 total tackles including 17 solo tackles and five assisted tackles. He had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.

Golden-Nelson leaves Akron with Academic All-MAC Honors and has one year of eligibility remaining.
