The KenPom rankings are used by statistical college basketball fans to evaluate the true value of teams.
These advanced analytics rank teams based on predicted offensive and defensive efficiencies while factoring in tempo, luck and strength of schedule.
In the preseason, West Virginia was ranked No. 86, placing 15th out of 16 teams in the Big 12, with Oklahoma State the only team ranked lower.
Following Tuesday night’s loss against Arizona, the Mountaineers have fallen from No. 36 nationally to No.48 and ninth in the Big 12.
