Mountaineer Women’s Basketball is taking Morgantown by storm in the new year.
After picking up their first two conference wins and moving to No. 17 in the AP top 25 poll this week, the Mountaineers have earned significant recognition by the university.
WVU’s top scorer, senior guard JJ Quinerly, earned individual recognition to go with it. After scoring 31 points against UCF and recording 19 points and five steals against BYU, Quinerly was named Student-Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
With this week’s outings, Quinerly now averages 18.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.8 steals per contest. With this week’s recognition, Quinerly has now earned her eighth Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
Quinerly and the Mountaineers will resume action on Wednesday at Texas Tech. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET in Lubbock.
