West Virginia and Arizona have already met once this season and will meet again tomorrow for just the seventh time in history. Tip off will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Coliseum.
The Mountaineers and the Wildcats played for the first time over 70 years ago when the Mountaineers took a close victory of 61-58. Arizona has now joined the Big 12, so meetings will be more frequent. The two teams hold a tied record of 3-3 on the series.
During the Battle 4 Atlantis holiday tournament over Thanksgiving this season, the Mountaineers took a hard fought victory in overtime over the ranked Wildcats with a score of 63-76 to place third overall.
Before the meeting earlier this season, the Mountaineers have not seen the Wildcats since a neutral matchup in Washington D.C. in 2008. West Virginia took home the victory with a score of 75-65.
West Virginia hopes to add their eighth consecutive win to their record tomorrow evening while earning a winning series record against the Wildcats.
