WVU is hiring former Mountaineers running back Noel Devine to come back and join the staff as an Offensive Analyst under Rich Rodriguez according to college football reporter Matt Zenitz.
Devine played for the team during Rodriguez’s first tenure with the team. According to 247Sports, he is the highest-rated recruit in WVU football history as a five-star prospect in 2007.
He recorded 4,315 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns to go along with 710 receiving yards and two touchdowns over his four seasons with the Mountaineers
It was reported Friday that Devine will join the Mountaineers’ staff as an offensive analyst. Devine will help Rodriguez on the offensive side of the ball with things like game preparation and game analysis.
“Blessing to be in this position a prayer that’s been answered for sure! Looking forward to learning and working hard to helping build the culture and tradition coach Rod Instilled In me and former players at WVU,” Devine wrote in a post made to X (formerly Twitter).
Andre Devine, the son of Noel, had spent his freshman year this past season at Jacksonville State being coached by Rodriguez.
