As first reported by On3’s Pete Nakos, former West Virginia wide receiver Hudson Clement has signed with Illinois.
Initially a walk-on at WVU, Clement broke out as a redshirt freshman in 2023, earning himself a scholarship after a three-touchdown performance against Duquense (FCS). The Martinsburg, West Virginia native followed up 2023 with an even better year in 2024.
In 2204, Clement led WVU receivers in nearly every category. He had 51 receptions for 741 yards and five touchdowns.
After Neal Brown was fired and Rich Rodriguez was hired, Clement entered the transfer portal, to the dismay of many fans.
Now, it is official that the redshirt junior to be, is leaving WVU as he signs with Illnois, who is coming off a 10-3 season.
