The Mountaineers square off against Kansas to kick off Big 12 play on Tuesday.
The two programs have a fairly short, but telling history. Their first matchup was in 2013, the first season of WVU in the Big 12, where Kansas came out on top.
Counting that win, the Jayhawks won three in a row against West Virginia before the Mountaineers won back-to-back in 2014 and 2015. Since then, WVU has not won consecutive games against the Jayhawks.
Kansas was on a six-game winning streak until West Virginia snapped it last year with one of their biggest upsets in program history. The Jayhawks are also undefeated at home against the Mountaineers with an 11-0 record.
Overall, West Virginia is 7-21 against Kansas. WVU has a chance to notch their first road win against the Jayhawks when they face off on Tuesday.
