Offensive lineman and Morgantown native Nick Malone announced in a social media post on Wednesday afternoon that he had declared for the NFL Draft. Malone thanked former head coach Neal Brown, the staff, teammates, and fans for supporting him over the years.
“I am forever grateful and proud to have worn the gold and blue,” Malone said.
Malone started with West Virginia as a walk-on in 2019 redshirting his first year. The following season, he received a COVID year, experiencing little game action. Malone now has played in 53 games with 17 starts during his six-year career.
In the 2024 season, Malone only allowed three sacks while earning 51 knockdown blocks. He was an Iron Mountaineer Award winner and received the Tommy Nickolich Award, given to the program’s top walk-on each year.
The 2025 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 24 and will last until the following Saturday.
