According to On3’s Pete Nakos, West Virginia redshirt sophomore wide receiver Hudson Clement has entered the transfer portal.
After not seeing action in 2022 as a freshman, Clement burst onto the scene with a huge game against Duquesne in 2023. Originally a walk-on, Clement was rewarded with a scholarship after his 177-yard, three-touchdown game.
Clement continued his strong performance in 2023, ending the season as one of the Mountaineers’ leading receivers. In 2024, he only continued to improve and proved to be a threat in WVU’s passing attack.
He finished 2024, including the bowl game, with 51 receptions for 741 yards and five touchdowns, leading West Virginia receivers in all three categories. The decision from the 6-foot-1 product of Martinsburg, West Virginia comes after an eye-popping performance in the Frisco Bowl and the hire of Rich Rodriguez.
With Clement’s decision, the Mountaineers could lose another vital playmaker to the transfer portal. Clement will have two years of remaining eligibility.
