According to Schuyler Callihan of West Virginia on SI’s source, WVU SPUR Obinna Onwuka is planning to enter the transfer portal but is open to returning to the program.
Onwuka, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound freshman this past season, did not see any game action with the Mountaineers this past season. Coming out of high school, he was a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 23 player from Maryland and No. 46 EDGE in the class of 2024.
He also received power conference offers from Boston College, Penn State, USC, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin in high school. He has four years of remaining eligibility.
