West Virginia senior quarterback Garrett Greene announced that he is declaring to the 2025 NFL Draft as a wide receiver.
Greene has been with WVU since 2020. Greene is Top 10 all-time in West Virginia history in passing yards with 5,370 yards.
Over the five years he spent with the Mountaineers, Greene completed 56.8% of his passes. He’s thrown for 36 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.
The 5-foot-11 product of Tallahassee has been highly regarded for his rushing ability. In his career, he’s rushed for over 2,100 yards and 28 touchdowns, with a season-high of 772 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in 2023.
With the 2025 NFL Draft class being loaded with quarterbacks, Greene was declared as a wide receiver. He had four catches for 32 yards in 2022.
A famous example of a college quarterback becoming a wide receiver in the NFL is former New England Patriot and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman.
