Mountaineers in the NFL: Week 15 Recap

Another week of the 2024 NFL season is officially in the books, lets take a look around the league at the performances of some former Mountaineers in week 15.

Beanie Bishop

In week 15, the Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 27-13. Rookie cornerback Beanie Bishop who has seen limited playing time as of late, stepped in after Donte Jackson left with a back injury, recorded two total tackles, and recovered a fumble. Beanie Bishop could see a more increased role if Jackson is ruled out in the coming weeks. The Steelers, who are now 10-4, have a game with the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North on Saturday at 4:30 pm EST.

Dante Stills

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the New England Patriots on Sunday by 30-17. Defensive lineman Dante Stills, who played 47% of the defensive snaps, failed to record any stats. The Arizona Cardinals, who are still fighting for the NFC West championship at 7-7, will take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1:00 pm EST.

Colton McKivitz

The San Fransisco 49ers were drafted on Thursday Night Football by the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 12-6, a game in which both teams failed to reach the end zone. The 49ers now sit in last place in the NFC West at 6-8 and will take on the Miami Dolphins on the road Sunday at 4:25 pm EST.

Kyzir White

In the Cardinals’ 30-17 win over the New England Patriots, linebacker Kyzir White led the team in tackles with 12 and was tied for second on the team in solo tackles with 5. The Cardinals will look to keep clawing to the top of the division with a matchup with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1:00 pm EST.

David Long Jr.

The Detroit Lions fell to the Buffalo Bills in week 15 by a score of 48-42. Linebacker David Long Jr. recorded three total tackles. Since joining the Lions a few weeks back, he has recorded only six total tackles. The Lions will travel to play the Chicago Bears at 1:00 pm EST on Sunday.

Rasul Douglas

Cornerback Rasul Douglas was ruled out of Buffalo’s Week 15 win over the Detroit Lions with a left knee injury sustained in the team’s win over the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 8th. Douglas’ status for next week against the New England Patriots remains up in the air as he’s ruled as questionable.

Geno Smith

In the Seattle Seahawks 30-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, quarterback Geno Smith completed 15 of his 19 pass attempts for 149 yards and an interception. Smith left the game in the second half with a knee injury he suffered and never returned to the game. The Seahawks will host the 11-2 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 4:05 pm EST.

Zach Frazier

In the Steelers’ 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, rookie Zach Frazier shined once again by not allowing a QB pressure on 26 pass-blocking snaps. Frazier has yet to allow a single QB pressure throughout his rookie year. Frazier and the Steelers will travel to play the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North on Saturday at 4:30 pm EST.
