The West Virginia Mountaineers will be playing in their fourth bowl in five seasons and will be taking on No. 25 Memphis in the Frisco Bowl.
The Frisco Bowl will be held Dec. 17 at 9 p.m. at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas and will be nationally televised on ESPN. The matchup was one of the first bowl games announced.
Memphis finished the regular season at 10-2 but will not be playing in the conference championship. Last year, Memphis defeated Iowa State in the Liberty Bowl.
Following Neal Brown’s firing, WVU will be coached by offensive coordinator/running backs coach Chad Scott. The Mountaineers finished their regular season 6-6 and defeated UNC in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl last year.
