24/7 Sports has Russell listed as a three-star recruit, the 45th-best prospect out of Ohio, and the 100th cornerback in 2025.
Tyrell Russell ultimately turned down other offers from Toledo, Nebraska, Wheeling, and Akron, and signed his letter of intent to play for the Mountaineers.
