Jeff Goodman, a basketball analyst and co-founder of Field of 68, included the West Virginia men’s basketball team at No. 24 in his updated Top 25.
The Mountaineers are coming off a strong showing in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, in which they placed third. En route to their podium finish, they defeated No. 3 Gonzaga in the quarterfinals and No. 24 Arizona in the third-place match.
Their only loss came to Louisville, who fell to Oklahoma in the championship. All of WVU’s games went to overtime.
Currently, West Virginia is 5-2, with their only other loss coming against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. They’ll play four more games before Big 12 play starts on Dec. 31.
Their next game is home vs. Georgetown on Friday, Dec. 6.
