Sydney Shaw’s Suspension a ‘Coach Kellogg Decision’

On Tuesday, WVU women’s basketball was ejected from the Mountaineers’ game against Bowling Green as she appeared to throw a punch at an opposing player.

Friday, Shaw was left out of the starting lineup in a matchup against Lafayette and was seen in ‘street clothes’ pregame. After a 98-28 win, West Virginia head coach Mark Kellogg addressed the situation and his decision.

“It was a coach Kellogg decision and it was a one-game suspension and so we’ll move on from here,” Kellogg said

Shaw transferred to WVU this offseason from Auburn. The junior guard is averaging 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.6 assists per game, shooting over 52% from the field.
