The Baltimore Orioles added former West Virginia pitcher Kade Strowd to their 40-man roster on Tuesday. By adding Strowd to the 40-man roster, they protected him from being available in the Rule 5 Draft.
Baltimore selected Strowd in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB draft. Since then, Strowd has worked his way up to AAA.
The 27-year-old has a 4.99 career ERA in the minors. He’s struck out 226 batters across 178.2 innings.
Strowd spent 2017-2019 at WVU. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2018.
