On Monday, senior defensive tackle Fatorma Mulbah talked about his career-high 13-tackle performance against Cincinnati.
Mulbah has been a big part of the defense this year for WVU at nose tackle. Especially with the injury to Eddie Vesterinen.
In Saturday’s game against Cincinnati, Mulbah recorded an impressive 13 tackles from the nose guard position, a feat that had never been done by another Mountaineer.
“I think I played with great effort on Saturday, just effort and chasing the ball, there wasn’t anything crazy that I did,” Mulbah said.
Mubah now had 38 tackles on the season and a sack.
The team recorded three takeaways and two defensive touchdowns in the first game under new defensive coordinator Jeff Koonz.
“Everybody bought in, we had a great week of practice,” Mulbah said on the new game plan, emphasizing getting turnovers.
The Mountaineers are going into their final stretch of games with two home games against Baylor and UCF before going on the road to finish the season in Texas Tech, with an outside chance of making the Big-12 title game, it will be crucial that the defense continues to play at the level they did on Saturday against Cincinnati.
